Visiting the tulip festivals in the Fraser Valley has been on my bucket list for several years, and last week I finally did it! My mom and I drove to the Lower Mainland and visited the Chilliwack Tulip Festival (formerly called Tulips of the Valley). It was absolutely stunning! Although it has since closed for the season, definitely keep the Chilliwack Tulip Festival on your list for next year. There is also another tulip festival nearby in Abbotsford which is still open and I’m sure is just as beautiful. Keep reading for my Chilliwack Tulip Festival tips and some gorgeous tulip pictures to get you in the springy mood!

Getting to the Chilliwack Tulip Festival
From Hope/the Okanagan: Take exit 109 (Yale Road West), then turn left onto Yale Road. You will see signs for the tulip festival on the right.
From Vancouver: Take exit 109 (Yale Road West), then turn right onto Yale Road. You will see signs for the tulip festival on the right.
Tickets
I highly advise buying tickets online ahead of time. Check their website for up-to-date ticket prices, but buying online will save you some money. Going on a weekday instead of the weekend is also cheaper and not as busy.
When to Visit
Check the tulip festival website for info on opening and closing dates, because they vary season to season. To give you a rough idea, in 2019 the festival opened with early bloom of tulips on April 10. Between April 10 and April 18, the main focus was on daffodils and hyacinths. From April 19 to May 1 was the full bloom of the tulips. We went on the last day (May 1), and most of the tulips still looked fabulous!
I had the best time at the Chilliwack Tulip Festival, and I would highly recommend it. There is a lot to see and enjoy and it is beyond beautiful!
Have you been to either tulip festival in the Fraser Valley, or anywhere else in the world??

There’s also the Bradner Flower show to view lots of daffodils. So many varieties to choose from.
I haven’t heard of that one, but it sounds beautiful! I’ll have to check it out sometime.
These pictures are wonderful! Tulips are some of my favorite flowers and I need to go somewhere like this really soon!
