25 Instagrammable Murals in Vancouver (part 2)

Rainbow mural in Vancouver, British Columbia

Vancouver has a mural festival every year, and the city is full of countless incredible murals. The majority of the murals in this post are in Mount Pleasant, a neighbourhood in East Vancouver. However, I have also included a couple of murals in Kitsilano and South Granville. If you’ve read my blog or follow me on Instagram, you will know murals bring me so much joy, and I am so happy to share these murals with you! Keep reading for the second instalment in my Vancouver Instagram Guide.

South Granville Murals:

Pieces

When I started hunting for murals in Vancouver, this rainbow kaleidoscope one at 2319 Granville St. was No. 1 on my list. However, the first time I tracked it down in the summer of 2018, it was blocked off by fencing, and lots of articles online said it was being torn down as part of a condo redevelopment.

Well I was back here in March 2019, and it was still there! Artist Milan Basic painted this beautiful mural in 2016 in partnership with the South Granville Business Improvement Area.

Pine Street Community Garden Mural

As much as I love hunting down murals, it can be even more fun to stumble upon them by accident. That is what happened with this mural, when I was driving down W 6 Avenue.

This mural, featuring bright coloured lines is behind the Pine Street Community Garden at Pine Street and W 6 Avenue. Unfortunately I do not know who painted it or what it’s called. If you do, please let me know!
