2022 bullet journal cover page

I cannot believe we are almost at the end of 2021! This year flew by. It honestly feels like a blur! The new year feels like an opportunity for change and a new start. If you have never bullet journaled before, this is a great beginner’s guide. All of these pages are so easy to create, and you don’t need many supplies. In today’s post I’m sharing how to set up a bullet journal for 2022 in a brand new bullet journal.

Watch Videos

I set up a brand new bullet journal for 2022, and I showed you exactly how I did it on my YouTube channel, Bujo with Andrea. The first video is a shorter one, talking you through all of the annual spreads.

In this second video, I shared a real-time plan with me, which is almost two hours long. This video doesn’t have any talking except for a quick intro. It’s perfect to have on in the background while you’re working on your own bullet journal.

Name Page

On the first page of my new bullet journal, I wrote out “this journal belongs to Andrea.” This is just a cute, fun page to kick off a new journal.

My theme for these annual pages is pastel with line drawings of flowers and leaves. I used Crayola Supertip markers in light pink, purple and green and I drew blobs of colour around the page. I then took my Sakura Micron fineliner pen in the size 02, and I drew some simple flowers and leaves. Having the flowers not completely coloured in creates such a fun, relaxed, whimsical vibe.

Cover Page

For my 2022 cover page, I traced a round ribbon container to make a circle in the centre of the page. I then wrote out the words twenty twenty two in the middle of the circle, and added the numbers 20 and 22 above and below the words.

I did the same technique with my drawings, adding the blobs of colour with the Crayola markers then drawing leaves and flowers overtop with the fineliner.

On this page, I also added some abstract shapes with the markers, including some thick lines, interlocking ovals, dots and semi-circles.

Grid Spacing Guide

A grid spacing guide is a really useful page to have at the front of your bullet journal as a reference guide when creating other pages throughout the year. I created a grid spacing guide in my 2021 journal, but this year I went with a more simplified version.

This journal is 28 spaces wide and 25 spaces tall. I wrote out all the numbers, then I added dotted lines at the halfway marks horizontally and vertically.

Key

A bullet journal key is a space to write out the different symbols you’ll use throughout your bullet journal. I created symbols for a task, a completed task, a cancelled task, a migrated task, an event, a deadline, a birthday and a note.

Future Log

The annual future log is such a useful spread in every bullet journal. It serves as both an overview of the year, and also as a place to keep track of all the important holidays, birthdays and anniversaries throughout the year.

Once I wrote in all the important dates, I used my Crayola markers to circle the dates on all the mini calendars.

Social Media Statistics Log

In my bullet journal every month, I track my statistics for my various social media channels. This is a really useful spread to look at as the year goes on and to see how all of my channels are growing.

In the past, I have made this a one-page spread, or a two-page spread. However, every year I end up having to add columns and it can get really crowded. This year I decided to give myself lots of room and make a four-page spread.

In 2022, I am tracking the views and subscribers for my two YouTube channels, Andrea Peacock DIY and Bujo with Andrea. I am also tracking my ad money for my DIY channel. My bullet journaling YouTube channel is not monetized yet, but I left an empty column just in case I get there this year.

On the other side of this spread, I’m tracking the followers and views for my two Instagram accounts and two TikTok accounts. I have one of each for both my DIY content and my bullet journaling.

On the second two-page spread for my 2022 statstics, I am tracking my blog and Pinterest stats, along with my affiliate sales money.

2022 Yearly Memories

This is a new layout for me this year, and it is a 2022 memories spread. I drew 12 rectangles for each month of the year, and I plan to use these spaces to write down any milestones and memories that happen throughout the year.

I think this will be such a fun spread to look back on, to see all of the good things that happened in 2022.

2022 Yearly Intentions

This is also a new page for me this year, dedicated to my annual intentions. I’ve never been a huge fan of annual goals, so I thought I would give this a try instead. I wrote out six phrases, covering different things I want to focus on this coming year.

My intentions for 2022 are…

  • find joy in every day
  • fuel my body with healthy food
  • try new recipes
  • move my body every day
  • stay connected with friends and family
  • appreciate all the small moments

Year in Pixels

I have created year in pixels pages before, but this year I am changing it up a bit. In the past, I have created a key with different moods, and every day I colour in the square with the colour that corresponds to that mood.

However, I have found this can become a bit redundant since I also typically create monthly mood trackers. I still wanted to create some kind of tracker to have the whole year on one page, but I didn’t want to limit it to particular moods.

Instead, I chose five colours and I used them to create a star system. Every day, I’m going to give the day a rating out of five stars.
